Very rarely does one have the opportunity to offer for sale a car such as this. The car has taken nine years to complete and on its first foray into the world of the 'Concours' it won - hands down.
It was originally an SS saloon registered AYG 584 and dating from 1936 and the reproduction and detailing was taken from two genuine SS 100's. The chassis was converted to full SS100 specification by Trac Engineering of Colchester and two SS axles were fully reconditioned with front twin leading brakes. The engine was completely rebuilt with new standard pistons and liners, new bearings, new valves, new clutch and pressure plate and then the engine was completely balanced.
The only route taken away from the original was the fitting of an XJ6 five speed manual gearbox with a new propshaft to enhance the driving abilities of the car - but even this is undetectable as the correct knob has been fitted.
Ashton Keynes Restoration completed the all aluminium body and wings and a new interior was fitted in Black leather with a new hood and side screens. Colin Clifford of Grimsby repainted the car in British Racing Green and the car is totally stunning and practically indistinguishable from the original ones - apart from the price that is!
The car is tested and taxed and ready to go and comes with its original buff logbook.
