Just found an original Jaguar magazine, Spring 1984, with a nice picture of SS1 Tourer 1935 in healthy condition ( supposing nowadays in good condition) on the front cover of the magazine.
Also a page of interesting infos about this car and more regarding SS .

I clearly remember the Atlanta Jaguar Society concours event the summer of 1978 at Tower Place in Buckhead, Atlanta. That year we had an XK SS of Bob Baker's (Denver, Colorado), a D-Type of Walter Hill's (Miami, Florida) -both in town for the vintage races- and an XK-120 roadster of Scott Schueneman from Florida. An older gentleman made a slight remark that he had an SS I Tourer. I inquired, ""You mean like an SS-100?""
He remarked, ""No, similar, but with rear seats.""
I did not pay much further attention except I remembered his name as Harry Thomas and that he lived close to where we used to live in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Several months later I rode by his house and noticed the SS I from the rear as it was parked in his carport. About three years later after deciding not to buy an SS 100 roadster in St. Louis, partly due to the price versus condition, I called Harry Thomas upon a hunch. It was a timely call. As of June, 1981, he was planning -Or near- retirement, and after owning the car since 1965, he was thinking of selling. The car had been completely rebuilt due to an overheat by third owners' driving it from Florida to Fairfax, Virginia, in 1960. Harry had to respray the car and rechrome the front bumper before he would let it go, since he wanted to see it nice ""one last time.""
Immediately, I wrote Andrew Whyte, my friend and contact in the UK, to research the car. Findings were most unique as follows:

Last winter, the car was disassembled, stripped and painted the original color as found -beige with a hint of olive green. The interior is original except for carpets and the back face of the front seats. Some of the small pieces have been rechromed, but the grille, headlights and windshield are still in acceptable, original condition. The car really runs well at continuous highway speeds of 55-60 mph and is driven frequently on short trips of 100 to 150 miles around Atlanta.
