Here is some more history on the car:

The car was first sold and delivered by Henlys of London to Mr. M. Vlasto on January 12th. 1939 with the registration number FLN 686.

In 1959, the car was bought by Mr. Waltah Clarke, 1488 Manzanita Ave. Palm Springs, Ca. 92262 and exported to the United States. In 1976, FLN 686 was sold to Mr. Don Becker, 31931 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, Ca. 92675. Later, in 1985, she was sold to Mr. Jim Cox, 52 Palo Dr., Colorado Springs, Co. 80906, and then in 1987 to Mr. Nick Chadd, 2708 Northcrest Dr., Colorado Springs, Co. 80907.

Terry Larson, the very reputed Jaguar restoration expert, bought the car in 1996 and fully restored this matching number SS100 in Mesa, Arizona for Mr. Hubert Geisseler from Switzerland between 1994 and 1996. The restoration focussed on bringing the car into the very same condition as delivered to Mr. M. Vlasto in January 1939 with its special gunmetal silver paint and grey silver upholstery.

The car was acquired by Dr. Hans-Martin Schneeberger in Dec. 2006 and participated in the Mille Miglia 2007 and at the Concorso d'eleganza Villa d'Este

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
