Registration No UAS965
Engine No L1662E
Chassis No T248821

Offered here is a 1935 example of the SS1, which was originally supplied to HMW Taylor of Swansea and registered WN 8514 but by 1938 it was registered to Mr. Francis Meehan of Timaru, New Zealand. By 1973 it had changed hands a few times and recorded just 64358 miles. In 1983 it then found its way to Australia, where it is said to have some racing history in local events, which is yet to be substantiated, and in 2001 the car was bought at Shannons Grand Prix Auction in Melbourne by one David Davenport, who shipped the car back to the UK. The vendor acquired the car in 2003.
Offered in excellent condition, the car has competed in a number of historic rallies and carries some subtle modifications to assist with regular use and reliability. These include an alternator built into the dynamo body, complete new wiring loom with modern fuses, which is easily accessible under the dash, 5 speed gearbox (original still with car), stainless steel exhaust with twin tail pipes and Blockley tyres.
Finished in racing green with black leather interior, the car is said to be an excellent drive and is presented in superb condition throughout. It is equipped with Lucas P80 headlamps and Lucas alto horns.
A rare piece of Jaguar history, which is ready to enjoy as a pampered classic or rally across the Alps.
