"This particular 3.5 Litre car was delivered new through Henlys Ltd to a Mrs Hetherington on the 25th March 1938 in Birch Grey with Blue interior. At the hands of Mrs Hetherington the car won its class on the 1938 RAC Welsh rally and there is a copy of The Motor magazine recorded the win. After WW2 like many other SS100, the car was shipped to America, where its ownership was recorded in theSS100 register from its earliest editions. The car was then imported back to Europe by Gerd R Lang( the proprietor of Chrono Swiss watch makers), who comprehensively restored to car to near concourse condition, with many photos on file of the restoration. The car was subsequently well sorted and used on many historic rallies across Europe.

The car drives very well having recently received new kingpins and a rebuilt steering box. Finished in its original colours of birch grey with blue trim. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a car with fine early competition history."

We proudly present this beautiful Jaguar SS100, finished in Birch Grey paintwork with Blue Leather interior trim.

According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, this car was sold to its first owner Mrs Hetherington by supplying dealer Henlys of Manchester and registered 25th March 1938.

Mrs Hetherington entered the SS100 in the Welsh Motor Rally in July 1938, winning the class for large open car of more than 15 bhp, before passing to its 2nd owner Mr Vic Morrall, the 3rd owner of the car Mr Norman N Robson of North Palm Florida USA, Beach owned the car for 20 years, before the new owner acquired the car in 2002 and imported it into Germany.

In the history file a 25 page technical appraisal was carried out at this time by Gutax Unfallanalyse GBR of Munich, this report states that chassis number 39051 was completely restored in 2004 with particular care to preserve its originally, the rebuilt engine (M434E) is from a 1938 SS100 Jaguar 3. 5 Litre Saloon.

The Jaguar was found to be in very good condition.

Whist the car was in Germany the Jaguar formed part of the Chronoswiss team, contesting important historic events in Italy, Germany and Switzerland including Trentino, Kolsters and the Coppa D' Oro delle Dolomiti. In one of the Chronoswiss Classic events the owner shared the driving with Bernd Rosemeyer Jr, son of the legendary Auto Union Grand Prix driver.

29th March 2011 the car was purchased by a UK Collector who has owned the car until the present day, both he and his wife competed in the 1000 Millas Sport in Argentina from 30th November to 4th December 2011. The history folder shows an invoice from Lovers Leap Garage for a complete engine rebuild dated 27th June 2012 at a cost of £12, 996. 00, there is various invoices in the history folder for works carried out on the car, including a extensive work carried out by Murray Scott Nelson Jaguar Specialists 29th September 2020 at a cost of £15373. 44

Supplied with Fiva identify card, the above mentioned 25 page report and photographs. Also included in the sale is a very rare set of side windows as can be seen in the photos.

The SS100 was one of the fastest and best handling sports cars of its day, as its competition record before and after both wars bears witness to.

This car is offered for sale for the first time since 2011 having been cherished by the previous owner for the last 14 years., eligible for wide variety of the most prestigious historic motor sport events, including Mille Miglia, Targa Florio, Le Mans Retro, Colorado Grand, Great America, California Mille and many more.

Only 314 Jaguar SS100s were made between 1936 and 1939. The total production consisted of :-
